Paddle & Portage offers self-guided and guided kayak trips on the Kootenay River, located in the beautiful Creston Valley of British Columbia.

The Kootenay River in the Creston Valley flows northward toward Kootenay Lake. It is a slow moving river and makes for very easy paddling - good for novices, birding, and friends who like to spend time together in the great outdoors.

Paddle & Portage is more than kayak rentals.

We provide the kayaks, paddles, life jackets (PFD's), map with directions, and a few tips you will need for an enjoyable trip on the Kootenay River.

Our kayaks are comfortable, roomy and very stable and can easily carry everything you will need for your trip.
