September 7, 2017: Paddle & Portage is closed for the season. Thanks for paddling with us. Hope to see you next year!

The Creston Valley has Something for Everyone

Paddle & Portage offers group kayak trips on the Kootenay River, located in the beautiful Creston Valley of British Columbia.

The Kootenay River in the Creston Valley flows northward into Kootenay Lake. It is a slow moving river and makes for very easy paddling - good for novices, birding, and friends who like to spend a leisurely get-together in the great outdoors.

We provide the kayaks, paddles, life jackets (PFD's), map with directions, and a few tips you will need for an enjoyable trip on the Kootenay River.

Our kayaks are comfortable, roomy and very stable and can easily carry everything you will need for your trip.

Paddle & Portage kayak trips are for adult-sized paddlers (<300 lbs). Paddlers 15-17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Paddle & Portage Offers:

aMon & Wed evening paddles

aGroup paddles

aKayaking programs through the Creston & District Community Complex

We are open 7 days a week from June 5th to September 6th, 2017.
